Prevention & Education
Our Tobacco Treatment Specialist course prepares clinicians to take the CTTTP national certification course, which is 100% online and self-paced. We offer over 20 modules, continually updated and developed by experts that use state-of-the-art methodologies for nicotine treatment.
For our community, we offer community conversations on a variety of topics relating to smoking and vaping from our location on E. Broad Street. These sessions keep parents, professionals, educators, coaches and local leaders current with tips and techniques to best deal with tobacco-related topics.
Virtually, we offer a variety of educational courses for both clinicians and community members on issues related to nicotine and tobacco cessation, trends and topics, including several with accredited CME credits.
The Breathing Association has a long history of advocating for public health concerns that protect the lung health of our community. We have led and supported numerous initiatives, including Tobacco 21, which raised the legal age to purchase tobacco products from 18 to 21, and the Smoke-Free Ohio Law, which prohibited smoking in public areas. Today, we support the City of Columbus in the ban on flavored tobacco products that target our community’s youth, black, Hispanic, Asian and LGBTQ+ populations.
